The Chinook Woodturning Guild is a chapter member of American Association of Woodturners and is a non-profit Society. Our emphasis is on skill improvement and camaraderie - inspiring the next generation of recreational woodturners in Southern Alberta.
Meetings are held on the third Thursday of the month, September through June at 7pm in the Lethbridge Casa building, 230 8th St. S. We also meet at informal ‘sawdust sessions’ on the 1st. Saturday of every month at 10am in the Casa building. Visitors are welcome at all meetings.
Woodturning is a form of woodworking that is used to create wooden objects on a lathe.
Woodturning differs from most other forms of woodworking in that the wood is moving while a stationary tool is used to cut and shape it. Many intricate shapes and designs can be made by turning wood.”
